Well, we weren't expecting many if any hashers to come to our small town on our inaugural run of the Bastrop/Smithville Hash House. To our surprise we got an email from a fellow hasher named Crouching Tiger Hidden Jacob. He and a few of his fellow eATMe hashers were going to be joining us. Hurray, now we can lay a trail!
Advertised start was 1pm so we headed out to the Colorado River Refuge with 25 lbs of flour, a cooler full of beer and about two hours before hashers should arrive. Bubbles and I were able to lay trail together until he had to head back to the start to meet our guests while I continued on my evil and treacherous trail thru the back woods and abandoned roads of Tahitian Village.
One of our faithful hounds from the nearby Austin Hash House Harriers arrived on time. Thank you @ss Gagger for showing up! The other visitors were running a bit late, but we ended up with 8 hounds to run our shitty trail! Hog Straddler, Porta Hottie, Fag Magnet, Easy Bake, Yellow Rain, Crouching Tiger Hidden Jordan and Just Starla. Yeah a virgin!
The hare (that's me - Whoreo) continued to lay trail while the hounds were away as late as 2:20pm. Being the evil hare that I am, I ran them thru the woods, up and down huge hills, thru the briars, stickers and mud, along old dirt roads for an hour before I rewarded them with a cold beverage at the one and only beer check after almost 4 miles.
After their short break and refreshment, they were slowed down by heavy rag weed under the power lines, leading them to the Railroad Tracks then heading them back to the Colorado River Refuge and a final flat and pretty trail along the water's edge. The total mileage for the day was 5.68 according to @ss Gagger who had a GPS and everyone came in by 4:15pm.
We circled by the river on a small knoll with a picnic table and some snacks, took a group photo and sang some songs. Just Starla didn't complete the trail but she was a good dog owner to head back to the start after deciding trail would be too long and hot for her recently 'shaved' and elderly collie.
Upon completion of our 'Swing Low' song we all headed over to Double Dave's in Bastrop for a $2 beer and some pizza. While the rest of us were enjoying our beer and pizza, Yellow Rain and Crouching Tiger Hidden Jordan's pizza never arrived. Sadly they had to go hungry as they needed to depart for Austin. The 'older' half of the hounds wanted to head back to our ranch for camping and hot tubing, while the 'younger' half preferred to head into Austin for the Full Moon trail at 7pm.
Hog Straddler and Porta Hottie quickly made camp by setting up their mattress in the back of the truck. @ss Gagger was welcome to our guest bedroom with inflatable mattress. Soon we were all enjoying the hot water and cool beverages, with a glorious full moon to light up the night. Porta Hottie enjoyed the moonshine on her bare breasts and we all saw a moon rainbow which was really cool. The weather was incredibly warm for late-Jan, even by Texas standards so nakedness was not a freezing experience!
Finally around midnight the young crowd came back from Austin, but only Yellow Rain remained to sleep off his debauchery. Just Starla stayed in the Barn-dominium with her dog and I hope a great time was had by all.
